Draft. This document has not yet been reviewed by a UAE-qualified lawyer and must be before launch.

Who we are

Amanah operates a verified register of housekeepers and nannies in the United Arab Emirates. This notice explains what we hold, why, for how long, and what you can require us to do about it.

We treat the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law 45 of 2021) as the standard we work to, whatever a court eventually decides applies to a business of this size.

What we hold about a family

Your name, email address, telephone number, and the household details you give us during intake — the ages of your children, pets, accommodation, languages, cuisines and budget.

We use them for one purpose: to order the register around your household and to explain why each person is or is not a fit. We do not sell them, we do not build advertising profiles from them, and we do not share them with the helpers you have not written to.

Your children's ages are the most sensitive thing you give us. We hold the age, never a name, never a date of birth, and never a photograph. If you would rather not give it, leave the field blank — the fit score simply stops scoring childcare.

What we hold about a helper

Identity and immigration documents, reference notes, interview notes and medical clearance. These live in a private store, are never shown to families, and are readable only by our vetting team.

Her public profile carries only what she agreed to publish: a first name and last initial, nationality, experience, skills, languages, availability, salary expectation and visa status.

Where she consents, a short video introduction. Consent is asked for separately from the application, and withdrawing it removes the recording, not merely the link to it.

Contact details and the paywall

A helper's telephone number and email are not part of any page a visitor can load. They are released only to a household holding an active membership, one helper at a time, and every release is recorded against your account and hers.

That record exists so that a helper can be told who has her number. It is not a marketing log.

Where your data is, and who else touches it

Our database and document store are operated by Supabase on Amazon Web Services infrastructure in Mumbai, India. This is a transfer outside the UAE, and using Amanah involves accepting it.

Payments are processed by Ziina, in the UAE. We store the payment reference, the amount and the status. We never see or hold your card number.

Transactional email is sent through Resend, and video introductions are hosted by Cloudflare Stream. Each receives only what it needs to do that job.

How long we keep it

Household details: for as long as your account is open, and for twelve months after your last membership ends, so a returning family does not start again from nothing.

A helper's vetting file: for two years after her profile is withdrawn, because a verification claim we made to a family has to remain evidenced.

Payment records: as long as UAE tax and accounting rules require.

Messages: for two years, so that a dispute can be examined.

What you can ask us to do

You may ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw a consent you gave. Write to us and we will answer within thirty days.

Deletion has one limit: where a record is evidence of a verification we published, or is required for tax, we will restrict it rather than erase it, and we will tell you which.

If you are not satisfied with how we answer, you may complain to the UAE Data Office.
