Domestic worker contract

The standard MOHRE contract that governs the arrangement — wage, hours, rest, leave and end of service.

Domestic work in the UAE is covered by its own law and its own standard contract, separate from the labour law that covers office employment. It sets out the wage, working hours, daily and weekly rest, annual leave, sick leave, and how the relationship ends.

It is signed through a Tadbeer centre, and it is the document both sides fall back on if anything is disputed. A side agreement that contradicts it does not override it.

Why it matters

Read it before signing, and make sure she has read it in a language she understands. Most disputes we hear about were settled in advance by a clause neither party had looked at.
