Deep cleaning and housekeeping
The difference between a house that looks tidy and a house that is actually clean.
Most households need two standards running at once: a daily tidy that keeps the place liveable, and a rotating deep clean that gets behind and underneath things. Confusing the two is why a house can look presentable and still feel grubby by month three.
Agree the rotation in writing in the first week — which rooms, how often, and what "done" looks like. Almost every complaint we hear about cleaning is really a complaint about an expectation nobody said out loud.
What the work involves
- Daily tidying, floors, bathrooms and the kitchen after each meal
- A weekly rotation: windows, skirting, inside cupboards, behind appliances
- Bed linen changed and beds properly made
- Managing cleaning stock so you are not out of anything on a Friday
- Seasonal work — wardrobes, storage, and after guests leave
