Amanah
What a helper does

Households with pets

Feeding, walking and living comfortably alongside a dog or cat — which not everyone does.

This is the mismatch we see fail fastest. A helper who is frightened of dogs and takes a job in a house with a labrador will last a month, and both sides will have wasted it. It is also entirely avoidable, because it is a yes-or-no question asked in advance.

The register records comfort with dogs and cats separately, because they are not the same question — and a fit score on Amanah will warn you outright rather than quietly scoring someone lower.

What the work involves

  • Feeding to a schedule, and fresh water without being reminded
  • Walks, and clearing up on them
  • Cleaning up accidents without resentment
  • Managing shedding, litter trays and pet laundry
  • Being alone in the house with the animal, calmly

We are interviewing now. Every profile has to pass five checks before it appears here, and we would rather show you nothing than show you someone we have not met. Leave us your details and we will write to you the week it opens.
